What happens if Training Professionals can't complete my training?
Should we be unable to complete your training for whatever reason it is our intention to ensure all up front fees are refunded and you receive a Statement Of Attainment for all modules you have completed. By taking these modules to another RTO you will be able to effectively pick up from where you were and continue. Please note that although you are paying a startup fee most of the time you will be enrolled in modules prior to being charged for them and in many cases you will have completed that module prior to payment as well.
Is there any Government Funding available?
At this point in time in Queensland there are no Government Subsidies available. This may change but it is not expected to at this time.
How will my qualification be delivered?
There are 2 modes of delivery that we can offer you:
1. RPL - Expected Duration is up to 2 years. Typically someone applying for RPL should have at least 5 years experience working in the Ophthalmic industry and have been completing the normal duties of a dispensing optician. The RPL process is about conducting a detailed assessment to identify the learner's existing Knowledge and Skill. The core focus of the RPL process is that evidence is collected that clearly demonstrates a person is competent in all aspects of the "Performance Criteria" and has all of the associated skills. As a result of this, where a candidate claims to have the appropriate knowledge and skills, it is acceptable to scrutinise/recognise, their relevant knowledge and past experience and subsequently give them the full assessment without going through any unnecessary Training.
Total Cost - including all expenses and assuming that all modules have RPL granted this will cost you $5,000 with $1000 due upon acceptance of your enrolment(unless otherwise arranged) then your payments will be collected in arrears after completing modules. Should we not be able to gather sufficient evidence to grant your RPL Training Fees shall apply but won't exceed a total of $7500 for the entire certificate.
What are the units and how long will it take?
It is important to note that this is assuming we can gather all of the evidence needed for you to successfully complete the RPL process. If we can't you will need to undergo any full training needed to fill the gaps.
